When the water drained from the fish pond near Nussdorf in the Weilheim district in November, bizarre structures gradually emerge. Ponds should remain above water in winter so that they can freeze out. This measure allows the vegetable matter to rot better, kills parasites and loosens the soil. Layers of digested sludge are also prevented by draining and additional liming.
